About Us

RSKTKR Consulting is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business, with offices in Safety Harbor FL, and Rhode Island.  Founded in 2004 by former service members, RSKTKR Consulting specializes in providing customized services and solutions for Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and corporate organizations. Clients include law enforcement agencies, the Department of Defense, and multi-national corporations.  Currently, RSKTKR Consulting trains Leo’s, Military Units, and civilians in Combat Marksmanship and concealed carry techniques at various locations around the country.

RSKTKR Consulting has assembled a world class team of experienced Veterans and trainers who fully understand the operational requirements that members of the military and Law enforcement are being prepared for today.

All of our instructors are of the highest caliber having extensive experience in firearms and tactical instruction. They have extensive combat experience in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as both Military members and as private security contractors.  Our instructors have an unequalled passion for the safety and success of service members in harm’s way, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

Michael “Doc” Hewett, CEO 

“Doc” is an 11 year veteran of the United States Navy. He spent 5 years as a Security Specialist, specializing in Patrol, Communications, Special Investigations, and was a member of the Special Response Team. He then transitioned to become a Corpsman (Fleet Marine Force) and was assigned to a Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Company. During his time with the unit he participated in or was an instructor for numerous Special Operations training packages, all the while being responsible for the health and safety of the reconnaissance team both at home station and while deployed.

Leaving the Navy in 2001, He began working in the Middle East andEuropeas a private security contractor, as a member of a Personnel Security Detail and as a Force Protection Specialist.

Upon returning to the United States he went to work at the Federal Air Marshal Training Center in Atlantic City, NJ, teaching advanced pistol marksmanship, concealed carry techniques, and tactics to Federal Law Enforcement Officers. The Federal Air Marshals are known as having the most demanding and rigorous firearms training programs in the country. While there, “Doc” had to exceed their standard in order to become an Instructor and then took personnel with varied levels of skill and taught them to the demanding standards of the Federal Air Marshals.

Michael recently attended the Department of States PSD program as well as the DoS Firearms Instructor course, and was sent to the Middle East to train personnel for the largest Embassy in the world, the United States Iraq Embassy in Baghdad.

He has been a full time, professional firearms instructor since 2004 with no accidents, injuries or mishaps.

 

 


Gregory “Cruz”, Lead Firearms Instructor

“Cruz” is a Military wounded warrior and combat veteran. As a Untied States Marine Corps Grunt, Scout Sniper and Scout Sniper Instructor all with 2d Marine Division. Cruz has also been a member of the National Guard in support of operation OIF and OEF.

Cruz worked as Corrections Officer and Reserve Police Office, with time as a ESU Team member, CERT Team Leader and Instructor. Cruz was able to teach at all academies, to patrol officers and SWAT members as well. He worked positions from patrol to ESU covering entry, perimeter, breacher and other positions as assigned.

After moving from local Law Enforcement to Federal Law Enforcement/ anti-terrorism as a Federal Air Marshal, working under 3 different administrations, FAA, TSA, and ICE, he was an Instructor for his field office as well as Instructor for the FAMTC. He help to create policies and procedures in support of the firearms program and established TTP’s for the Defensive Tactics (Unarmed) program as well as helped establish TTP’s for several Allied Air Marshal programs.

Working for a Governmental Intelligence Agencies as a military member Cruz stood up the first operational security detachment in Afghanistan in support of covert and overt intelligence gathering operations. Conducted training for all government agencies and military personnel in country as well as foreign nationals in support of OEF. Was team Chief of the Security/Protective Service Detail on over 1000 missions in two years protecting intelligence members, Flag rank military officers, high ranking diplomats, U.S. and Foreign Government Officials.

Cruz brings a wealth of knowledge in tactics and weapons handling to the RSKTKR Team and is a subject matter specialist on all weapon systems and tactics.

 

 

RSKTKR Consulting Instructors bring together leaders, operators, and teachers from all facets of the US Military and Law Enforcement. Search throughout the background of each individual instructor and you will find many years experience within USSOF and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office / Law Enforcement Agencies. From Hostage Rescue, Personal Security Details, and Close Quarters Battle our Instructors are the Subject Matter Experts in each of these fields and more. You will   not find a better corps of former Non Commissioned Officers, Operators, and Instructors. RSKTKR Consulting Instructors are required to maintain a proficiency of Expert with all weapons and demolitions, along with keeping pace with the ever changing world of tactics. Our Instructors attend more than just our own in-house training; they are expected to attend training from as many other vendors and units as possible so as not to lose grip with the ever changing world of combat.
